Alex Yuan for Richmond Hill

Dear Friends;

Throughout the past seventeen years I have served the community in many different ways. I understand the community’s needs. Being successful in business has given me an understanding as to how business and government have a number of parallels. A government needs to be competitive, accountable and responsible.

Over the years, I have worked in a wide range of areas: health care, education, seniors, youth and government committees, including the Ontario Medical Association. I have frequently worked with Cabinet ministers both provincially and federally to resolve issues and concerns.

The face of GTA has changed. We are a diverse society representing the best people from all over the world. I am prepared to work with all groups to find common ground and ensure that we have a united voice. To make a community work, you have to reach out to ensure that all people are represented and that no one is isolated. We need to be united and have capable, experienced representation to achieve serious goals.

I am running because after six years the rot of scandal and mismanagement has sunk deeply into the McGuinty Government. I want to help local residents currently saddled with Dalton McGuinty’s higher taxes. Dalton McGuinty calls it a ‘HST’…I call it just one more tax grab by a greedy government that has no idea how hard people are working just to get by…a government that takes and takes and takes. These families deserve some honesty, some fairness and value for their tax dollars. We need to make improvements in our governmental systems, such as health and transportation.

Finally, I am also running because it is long overdue that our government do something about the gridlock and the traffic that keep so many parents away from their children…so many husbands and wives away from each other…the traffic gridlock that is threatening our quality of life.

If I am elected to be your Richmond Hill Provincial PC candidate, I am prepared to knock on every door I can…I am prepared to listen on the doorstop and in the coffee shops and anywhere else that people will talk to me. I am going to work hard to ensure that Richmond Hill once again has a real Progressive Conservative – government – and MPP.

FAILED DIABETES REGISTRY, NURSE LAYOFFS, PROOF THAT DALTON MCGUINTY’S THRONE SPEECH CANNOT BE TRUSTED

With each passing day it becomes more clear that Dalton McGuinty’s Throne Speech promises cannot be trusted. One need not look any further than the mountains of broken promises littering Dalton McGuinty’s previous Speeches from the Throne for evidence of this fact. In his 2007 Throne Speech, Dalton McGuinty promised he would set up a provincial diabetes strategy, the centerpiece of which would be a provincial diabetes registry to be set up by the Spring 2009 – by none other his Liberal appointed friends at eHealth Ontario. Despite the waste of hundreds of millions of dollars, Spring 2009 has come and gone and Ontario diabetics are still no closer to getting their promised support.     Read More     McGuinty Government is out of touch and infected by a culture of entitlement

2010 will be an even more taxing year for Ontario families already struggling to make ends meet under Dalton McGuinty’s government. HST will hit renters hard

(Ottawa, ON) – Leader of the Opposition Tim Hudak (MPP Niagara West-Glanbrook) and Critic for Revenue and Government Accountability, Lisa MacLeod (MPP Nepean-Carleton) continued their fight on the ground and online to stop the ‘Dalton Sales Tax’ or DST before this unpopular tax is implemented. Hudak and MacLeod were at an apartment building in Ottawa to highlight the negative impact the DST will have on renters in the province. The DST is the harmonization of the PST and GST, and will increase the cost of numerous items, including rent.

HST and e-Health Scandal show McGuinty Government is out of touch and infected by a culture of entitlement?

The spring session of the Ontario Legislature was dominated by two issues ? the introduction of the HST and the e-Health scandal. Both issues in different ways suggest that the government of Dalton McGuinty ? now nearing the midpoint of its second term ? may have passed its ?best-before date?. They are tired, complacent and increasingly out of touch with ordinary Ontarians. Read More     McGuinty Government is out of touch and infected by a culture of entitlement

ONTARIO ON THE DOLE

A Have-Not Province with a Have-Not Premier

In advance of a budget widely expected to post a multi-billion deficit, Premier McGuinty has given a series of sombre interviews, warning Ontario has to restructure its economy or face a lower standard of living. It should be noted that as far back as the 2004 dissenting opinion, the Official Opposition has been on record warning the McGuinty Liberals of the long-term impact their reckless tax and spend fiscal policies would have on the provincial economy and the standard of living for Ontarians.
